Day 38: 🚐 Road trip from Anchorage to rainy Valdez, Alaska!

Day 38 of our Alaska Road Trip brought an unexpected change of plans! 🌧️ After flood watches were issued for the Seward, Alaska area overnight, we decided to leave a day early and drive to Anchorage for a safe overnight stay at the Air Force Lodge. The next morning, we stocked up on supplies at Costco and the Base Exchange before continuing our scenic drive to Valdez, Alaska, just as we had planned. The drive along the Richardson Highway showcased Alaska’s incredible mountain scenery, waterfalls, glaciers, and changing weather. Although the rain eased for part of the trip, it returned as we approached beautiful Valdez, one of Alaska’s most scenic coastal towns. We arrived safely at Valdez Glacier View Campground, set up our SylvanSport GO camper trailer, and settled in for the night as the rain continued.
