After an incredible day at Antelope Canyon and the Grand Canyon, we hit the road again on Day 5 of our 2,300-mile cross-country journey from Alabama to San Diego. What should have been a simple drive turned into a bit more of an adventure after we almost ran out of gas in the California desert! But once we arrived in Twentynine Palms, everything changed. We met up with the kids for dinner, explored the massive boulders of Joshua Tree National Park, and ended the day watching one of the most peaceful sunsets we've ever experienced. Sometimes the best travel memories aren't made by checking off every stop on the itinerary. They're made by slowing down and simply soaking in the moment.
