Juízes 7 e 8 E exclamaram: Espada pelo Senhor, e por Gideão. (Vem e Segue-me 29.05.2026)

Judges 7 and 8 And they exclaimed: A sword for the Lord, and for Gideon! (Come and Follow Me 29.05.2026) • Judges 7:7 And the Lord said to Gideon, “With these three hundred men who lapped the water I will deliver you, and give the Midianites into your hand; therefore let all the rest of the people go, each to his own place.” God strengthens Gideon before the battle (vv. 9–15) Judges 7:10 And if you are still afraid to go down, go down, you and your servant Purah, to the camp; 12 ... like locusts in multitude... Gideon had already received signs: the angel, fire consuming the offering, the wet and dry fleece. Even so, there was still fear. • True faith does not automatically eliminate anxiety or insecurity. • God does not condemn Gideon, but helps him overcome fear. Judges 7:13 When Gideon arrived, a man was telling his companion a dream. He said, “I had a dream: A loaf of barley bread rolled into the Midianite camp. It came to the tent and struck it, so that the tent collapsed and was turned upside down.” 14 His companion answered, “This is nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, an Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hand.” 15 When Gideon heard the story of the dream and its interpretation, he fell down to worship. Then he returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands.” The extraordinary detail: The fear was shifting sides. Before: Israel was afraid of the Midianites. Now: The Midianites were already terrified by Gideon. • The symbol of barley bread Barley bread was food for the poor. This symbolizes Gideon: simple, unlikely, despised. The “bread” knocking down the Midianite tent represents: God using the weak to destroy the powerful. • Gideon immediately worshipped after hearing the dream. When we receive spiritual confirmation: we should respond with reverence, gratitude, worship. Not just with emotional enthusiasm. • The enemy was: dreaming of defeat, interpreting negative symbols, spreading fear internally. The Midianites were already emotionally defeated before the battle began. • • “Courage is not the absence of fear; it is obedience despite fear.” The unusual strategy for victory (vv. 16–22) Judges 7:16 Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies; And he gave each man a trumpet and empty jars, with torches inside them. 17 He said to them, “Watch me and do as I do. When I come to the edge of the camp, you shall do as I do. 18 When I and all who are with me blow the trumpet, then you also shall blow the trumpet all around the camp and say, ‘For the Lord and for Gideon!’” 19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the edge of the camp at the beginning of the midnight watch, while the guards were posted. They blew the trumpets and broke the jars that were in their hands. 20 The three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers; And they had a burning torch in their left hand and a trumpet in their right hand, which they blew, and they cried out, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” 21 And each man stood in his place around the camp; then the whole army ran and, shouting, fled. 22 When the three hundred blew their trumpets, the Lord turned the sword of one against another throughout the camp; and the army fled to Zererah, as far as Beth-shittah, to the border of Abel-meholah, above Tabbath. “Look at me, and do as I do.” Gideon did not say, “Go.” He said, “Follow me.” The leader: goes first, takes risks first, demonstrates before demanding. Jesus Christ: “Come after me.” Christ never asked for something that He Himself was not willing to do. • 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” • Gideon created a psychological shock operation. He used: sound, light, surprise, confusion, darkness, exaggerated perception of the enemy. • Normally: only unit leaders had trumpets. If 300 trumpets sounded simultaneously: the enemy could imagine: thousands of soldiers arriving. Each trumpet could represent an entire military company. Then the enemy's brain interpreted: “We are surrounded by a huge army.” • The jars hid the torches. When broken: hundreds of lights suddenly appeared in the dark. This created: disorientation, a feeling of total encirclement, visual chaos. • “A sword for the Lord, and for Gideon!” Interesting: they weren't even holding swords. This is symbolic. Spiritual doctrine here: The true weapon was: the power of God, faith, obedience. • The Lord turned the sword of one against the other. Collective psychology of panic. When men wake up: in the dark, hearing hundreds of trumpets, seeing lights everywhere, believing in a massive invasion, and already carrying internal fear… Remaining description available via WhatsApp. Vanderlei Claudiano WhatsApp (11)965623073
