My sister has just left, and tomorrow another dear friend is arriving — so today feels like a quiet reset in between visits. The house is a little chaotic, the laundry is hiding in mysterious corners, and the plants are waiting patiently for water. I start the morning slowly with Lara on the balcony, enjoying coffee in the sun while the island wakes up around us. Then the real work begins: tidying the office, washing clothes, watering plants, and restoring the calm feeling that makes a home truly feel like a sanctuary. In the middle of it all, Lara and I take a walk along the ocean. The pebble beaches of Madeira sound beautiful on windy days, and those little moments outside always remind me how important it is to reconnect with nature. Later in the day, I prepare the guest room for my friend arriving tomorrow. I truly believe that you can feel the care someone puts into a space — even in something as simple as the bed you sleep in. The day ends quietly with a simple dinner inspired by cold noodle dishes I discovered in Vietnam, followed by a peaceful evening at home.
