Strict Landlording

The plaintiff says she rented a room in the defendant’s apartment but was later asked to move out. She says she complied but has not received her security deposit back. She is suing to recover the money. The defendant says the plaintiff violated the guest rules almost immediately and claims the plaintiff’s boyfriend was essentially living in the apartment. She argues that because the plaintiff moved out early, she has the right to keep the security deposit and is countersuing for unpaid utility bills.
