Adirondacks BDR-X | The Adventure We Didn’t Expect

The Adirondacks BDR-X gave us an adventure we never could have planned. In the summer of 2026, shortly after the route was first released, we spent four days riding Sections 1–5 of the Adirondacks BDR-X through mountain roads, remote dirt, snowmobile trails and unexpectedly challenging terrain. Extreme heat, changing plans, a hospital visit and a few incredible surprises turned this into so much more than the ride we expected. In this film, we share a detailed look at the terrain and highlights along the Adirondacks BDR-X, including Whiteface Mountain, Massawepie Lake, Mud Creek Road, Olin Road, Houlahan Road and the Tannery Road Expert Section. We've included extended riding footage of nearly the entire Tannery Road Expert Section — the only Expert Section on the Adirondacks BDR-X — to give riders planning their own trip a more complete look at the terrain and what to expect. It also happened to be my very first BDR Expert Section. 🏍️ Along the way, we share some of our favorite stops, practical tips and the unexpected moments that reminded us why the best adventures don't always go according to plan. Sometimes, they simply give you a story worth bringing home. Have you ridden the Adirondacks BDR-X yet? Tell us your favorite section — or what part you're most looking forward to riding. Hope you'll come along for the ride. 🏍️🌲⛰️
