We Built an Online Business With No Electricity…

We built an online business from one of the most remote valleys in the world... Hakaui Valley on Nuku Hiva Island in French Polynesia. No electricity, no internet and no road... For the first few years, the only way to reach town from our valley was to hike five hours over the mountain, carrying artwork and supplies with the help of our horse. In this video we decided to cross that mountain again, the same way we used to do it in the early years... to show you how everything started. Back then we were trying to build an online shop selling Marquesan art, organize tours in Hakaui Valley, and struggling to stay connected to the outside world. Those years were challenging, but also some of the most unforgettable ones. Today we no longer hike this route regularly. Instead, we rent a boat to travel between valley and town whenever we need supplies or ship our artwork around the world. But crossing the mountain again reminded us exactly where this journey began. Life in the Marquesas Islands can be difficult, but it is also incredibly beautiful. And this mountain trail holds many memories for us. If you're curious how this whole story began eight years ago (including how we met) Ana wrote a book about that journey: https://cannibal-art.com/collections/... 🌴 Our website https://cannibal-art.com Follow our journey from Nuku Hiva, French Polynesia: Instagram:   / cannibal.art.marquesas   Facebook:   / cannibal.art.marquesas   Thank you for watching and being part of this journey with us.
