They occupy one sixth of the country's area, and cross the entire state of Durango from north to south. Guided by the staff of Hostal Mexiquillo, we hiked to where we could see the canyons and waterfalls of Mexiquillo National Park. We also saw El Espinazo del Diablo, The Devil's Backbone, and the Baluarte Bicentennial Bridge, both in the heart of the Sierra Madre.
