A turboprop reconnaissance aircraft of the US Army that was officially banned from air combat, yet shot down a North Vietnamese MiG-17 over the A Shau Valley in February 1968. The story of a plane that the Air Force wanted to disarm, the Pentagon tried to limit with weight limits, and the Viet Cong called the Whispering Death. From political wars in Washington, through night flights 150 meters above the jungles of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, to the burning oil wells of Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm.
