Why are these guys so happy?

It just rained in Oman! The rain in a desert country is a true blessing. Everywhere, the mood is upbeat. Whole families flock out of their houses and picnic around in the wadis along the banks of the one-day rivers. Unfortunately, deeper in the canyons, the rains can claim victims every year as not everyone is able to escape to safety during flash floods that typically accompany the rain. The rains this year have not been too violent, though, and daytime picnicking appears rather safe.
