Oman’s perfect beaches- Bar al Hikman

This trip took us to the lands of the al-Himan tribe- the plains and coast in the Sharquiya region of Oman. The area is truly unique with pristine white sandy beaches, secluded from the civilization, accessible only through a sometimes treacherous sixty-kilometer off-road journey across featureless plains. The reward of the journey is certainly worthwhile as you will be rewarded with solitude of camping on a peninsula surrounded by the shimmering turquoise waters of the bay. The area is also a large bird sanctuary with pink flamingos wading in the lagoon, plenty of fish and crabs populating the waters and occasional turtles, dolphins and even whales.
