Lahore to Almost Rawalpindi | 13UP Awam Express Journey Ends Abruptly at Sihala

Assalamualaikum Everyone! Welcome to a brand new train journey vlog. This time, I traveled from Lahore to “almost” Rawalpindi on the famous 13UP Awam Express. I say “almost” because my journey ended abruptly at Sihala Railway Station, just few stations before Rawalpindi, due to a derailment ahead that caused a major line blockage. The Awam Express is one of Pakistan Railways’ most iconic trains. Running on Mainline-1 from Karachi to Peshawar, it is among the oldest and longest route trains, well known for having the most stoppages across Pakistan. My day began at Lahore Junction. The train left nearly an hour late at around 9:00 AM, on a hot and humid morning. Sadly, an incident happened right at departure when a passenger’s 5-liter mustard oil bottle slipped and spilled due to the jerks of the train. On the way, I enjoyed breakfast onboard and later had some fresh guavas from Wazirabad. The journey offered beautiful scenes of different stations, single-line crossings, and green landscapes. After crossing Gujar Khan, the train slowed down considerably due to the derailment ahead. Finally, I decided to end my journey at Sihala, a suburban station of Rawalpindi, to save time. Despite the unexpected ending, it was still a memorable and enjoyable journey.
