How to Enjoy the Fountain Pen Hobby without Spending - Part II - The Ink Study

In this video I show that by using what you have for samples, you can enjoy an "ink study" and really dive deeply into one color family or one type of ink. An Ink study can last several days or several months! Even if you have only a few samples and 4 or 5 pens the combinations and the paper differences alone will provide you with hours of fun in the hobby!!! The color I used for the video is Grey because I'm currently doing a long and thorough study of grey inks in an attempt to settle on one to use daily in my bullet journal. I'm on a fountain pen and ink "no buy" (with the exception of the Ink Flight subscription) until 2020. But that isn't stopping me from having a great time experimenting with ink samples (special thank you to everyone who sent me samples this year!). It is my hope that this series will inspire you to use what you have a truly have a good time without having to spend any money. It can be challenging sometimes - I'm quick to admit I lose my mind over ink - but studies like these have really slowed me down and helped me to learn a lot about the inks and how they perform in my preferred pens and notebooks!
