Another Tree Service Declined the Job… So Shorewood Hills Called Us

In this episode, we take on two of the most challenging storm-damaged tree removals we’ve seen in a long time! Our first job brings us to Shorewood Hills, Wisconsin, where a massive oak tree split in half during a storm. One half crashed into overhead utility wires and became tangled in a large white pine, while the other half remained standing. Using the Merlo, we carefully worked our way through the damaged tree to safely remove it without causing any additional damage. Next, we tackled two huge uprooted black locust trees that were left standing only because they were hung up in neighboring trees. One of the trees was so unstable that we had to secure it with ropes and winches while Spencer climbed it to dismantle it piece by piece. It was an incredibly technical removal that required careful planning and teamwork from start to finish. We were also fortunate to have Damien in town visiting, so having both Damien and Spencer climbing made these difficult removals go as smoothly as possible. Even with all the extra help, we worked until 8:00 that evening to finish the job. This was also a special project because it was our first time working for the Village of Shorewood Hills. These removals required specialized equipment, experience, and a solid game plan, and we’re grateful the Village trusted us to get the work done safely. To wrap up the episode, we tackle one more Merlo removal, a knuckle boom crane job, and then take the family up north to Manitowish Waters, where we spend some time boating and riding the WinMan mountain bike trails. A huge thank you to Damien, Spencer, Felipe, Zach, and the rest of the crew for another long day of hard work and making these challenging removals look easy.
