Chang La | Pangong Lake | Himalayan Marmots | Black Necked Crane

No trip to Ladakh can be called complete without visiting the astonishing Pangong Lake / Tso. And don’t simply make a day trip out of it. Stay there for one night to make the most of its beauty. If course, no trip in Ladakh is just about the destination. So, along the way, we stop at Chang La. We were fortunate to see snowfall over there and spot patters in the snowflakes. The Pangong Lake of course is everything you have heard about it. Pristine blue-green waters and winds that will sweep you away! We were a little unfortunate to face biting cold as well so could not spend as much time as we would have liked but we got enough shots to give you an eyeful. On the way back, keep your eyes peeled for Himalayan Marmots. They look like large, furry rats and your immediate instinct will be to cuddle them. But please curb your enthusiasm. They are rodents after all, and you do not want to get bitten. Take all the photos you want but please do not feed them. Let them stay wild. There is also a viewpoint created for spotting Black-necked Cranes, the state bird of Ladakh. We could not spot one but nevertheless spotted some other birds there. And since this is the last episode of this Ladakh travel series, a few tips and tricks as well. For instance, which oxygen cylinder to purchase and how to book a car whilst in Ladakh. Watch the entire video so you can plan you own trip to Ladakh well.
