VENICE, CA — Tuesday, July 15, 2025 — A man believed to be unhoused was arrested Tuesday morning during a routine homeless encampment cleanup along Venice Boulevard, as Los Angeles Police Department officers discovered he had an outstanding warrant. The arrest was made without further incident. The cleanup operation was part of a coordinated multi-agency effort involving LAPD, the Department of Public Works, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services. Crews removed debris and addressed unauthorized encampments under Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 41.18, which restricts sitting, lying, or sleeping in designated public spaces such as sidewalks, parks, and near sensitive-use areas. A staff member from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office was present to assist with coordination and observe proceedings, signaling the city’s continued emphasis on combining enforcement with service outreach.
