Sanitation Crews Conduct Weekly Cleanup at Venice Homeless Encampments with Police Oversight

City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works sanitation workers, dressed in white hazardous materials suits, conducted a cleanup at homeless encampments along Hampton Drive in Venice on Thursday, November 3, 2022. The operation was carried out in coordination with the Clean Harbors Hazardous Waste Management team, focusing on waste removal and sanitation efforts in the area. Los Angeles Police officers were present to oversee the cleanup, while outreach workers from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) engaged with individuals experiencing homelessness to offer services and assistance. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation provided traffic control to ensure safety during the operation.
