President Museveni Launches The NRM Manifesto 2026-2031 In Munyonyo
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has officially launched the NRM Manifesto 2026–2031, setting a bold vision for Uganda’s next chapter under the theme “Protecting the Gains and Securing a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.” The historic event, held on September 29, 2025, at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, brought together top government officials, Members of Parliament, NRM leaders, and party supporters from across the country. In his keynote address, President Museveni highlighted the NRM’s 60-year liberation journey and emphasized the movement’s greatest achievement — peace and security. He called on leaders to fight crime, corruption, and theft that undermine development, while urging Ugandans to focus on wealth creation, agriculture, industrialization, and innovation to unlock millions of jobs and accelerate the country’s socio-economic transformation. 🔑 Key highlights of the NRM Manifesto 2026–2031: Strengthening peace, security, and rule of law as the foundation for development. Expanding wealth creation initiatives to fully utilize Uganda’s 40 million acres of arable land. Supporting scientific research and innovation, including breakthroughs in medicines for cancer, diabetes, and malaria. Enhancing infrastructure — roads, electricity, ICT, schools, hospitals — to support rapid economic growth. Increasing Parish Development Model (PDM) funding and providing special support for vulnerable groups. Comprehensive education reforms: recruitment of 49,406 teachers, job-creation-focused curriculum, and improved civil service pay. Advancing East African regional integration, single currency, and free trade by removing non-tariff barriers. NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong highlighted major achievements from the 2021–2026 term, including: Poverty reduction from 21.4% to 16.1% Job creation rising to 345,039 50,000 factories operating across the country Export earnings reaching $13.3 billion Electricity generation expanding to 2,051 MW Literacy rising to 74% with 9.1 million learners enrolled in UPE and USE The new manifesto builds on this progress to deliver a qualitative leap into high middle-income status — a vision centered on shared prosperity, self-reliance, and continued transformation. President Museveni urged Ugandans to stay united, disciplined, and focused on consolidating these gains for future generations. #NRMManifesto2026 #MuseveniSpeech #Uganda2026 #ProtectingTheGains #HighMiddleIncomeStatus #NRM #UgandaNews #Vision2040 #NRMManifestoLaunch #Museveni2026 #UgandaTransformation
