BBC News Report on Good Friday Agreement
In the afternoon of Good Friday, 10 April 1998, agreement was reached at the Northern Ireland talks. At about 5:30 pm, BBC Two dropped its scheduled programmes in late afternoon to cover developments. Here is most of the News Report, picking up in the middle of a joint press conference by Tony Blair and Bertie Ahern. Nicholas Witchell presents, with Robin Oakley in the studio.
