Within the mesmerising verses of this Bhajan, lay the enteral legend of Sita Swayamvar. Sita is born to King Janaka, the ruler of Kingdom Videha. Her father at once recognise her divine charm when she is able to lift the Shiv-dhanush so effortlessly, whom no man in the entire landscape was able to move an inch, even the gods were not able to string it. Meanwhile Rama, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu is born to King Dashrath. King Janaka decides, that the man worthy enough to ask her daughter's hand in marriage would be the one who'll be able to strung the bow of Lord Shiva. Unfortunately none of the kings could even lift it as much to find how heavy it was! Sage Vishvamitra arrives at the palace with Rama and Laxmana. Finally, it was Prince Rama who manages to do the impossible, he strung the bow and it broke into two halves, thereby winning the princess's hand in marriage. Following this, everyone gets exposed to wrath of angry Sage Parshunath who was a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. Soon he realises that Rama is no ordinary man, he himself is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He silently retreats from the Swayamvar palace. Tulsidas says, that the marriage was celebrated throughout the kingdom and Koshalya, Mother of Rama, welcomes Sita to her new house and everyone rejoices at her arrival.
