None of us is blessed with the elixir of life. All our accumulated wealth will seem futile on our deathbed. This bhajan works as an eye-opener for all those who are drowned in self pride and materialistic pleasures. Sung in the bold voice of our dear Gavra Devi, she is a popular folk singer from Bikaner, evidently well-loved by her audiences who call her "Buaji." Through this beautiful Bhajan, the poet wants to warn the listeners and advises them to be less haughty and more humble. We are just a freckle of dust in this magnanimous cosmos. We may encounter our death at any anonymous threshold and at that time only our good deeds and kindness will save us from the wrath waiting for us ahead. Many wise and powerful Kings came by and went, but none of them was able to defend themselves against the ultimate truth of mortality! The author says that people these days are ignorant of the true path to Bhakti, they waste their time and are always distracted, even in a Satsang, their mind is not at peace. Organised by Lokayan, Bikaner and partnered with Rajasthan Police, this is a folk festival providing a space where folk musicians, artists, scholars, students and seekers can immerse themselves in the voices of Bhakti and Sufi saint-poets such as Kabir, Mira, Bulleh Shah, and many more, questioning and dissolving boundaries of caste, class, religion and identity. The five editions, in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 were widely chronicled and appreciated.
