Turkey's advancement in the defense industry was once again showcased at IDEF 2025. The agreements signed and the new-generation systems exhibited throughout the event proved that Turkey has become not only a user but also a manufacturer and exporter. The Gözde Guidance Kit, one of ASELSAN's standout products at the fair, makes a critical difference on the battlefield by providing the ability to guide inert munitions. The new-generation pilot helmet, capable of transmitting color images, is a world first in this field. Furthermore, the Doruk Target Coordinate Identification System stands out with its high-resolution imagery and thermal tracking capabilities. ASELSAN's electronic surveillance systems for naval forces are currently in active use in many countries beyond Turkey. The Mechanical and Chemical Industry (MKE) also unveiled the OZOK hand grenade, designed by a martyred soldier, at the fair. OZOK, which stands out with both its technological aspects and the story behind it, was the scene of emotional moments at the fair. Other important systems showcased included the 105mm Boran howitzer, 40mm grenade launcher systems, and revised infantry rifles. HAVELSAN's domestically developed large language model, MAIN, attracted attention with its advanced artificial intelligence capabilities capable of processing text, audio, and video content in real-time. The digital unity concept, unveiled at the fair, stood out as a next-generation combat architecture that coordinates air, land, and sea assets. TÜMOSAN responded unequivocally to the question, "Is the engine domestically produced?" frequently asked at fairs every year: "Yes, now the engines are domestically produced as well." The 460-horsepower marine engines were developed for use in unmanned marine vehicles and powerful tugboats. Domestically produced engines, which also play an active role in armored land vehicles, have become one of the most important elements in reducing foreign dependency. The Cobra II vehicle exhibited at the OTOKAR stand stood out as Turkey's largest single land vehicle export. Part of this massive order of 1,059 vehicles will be produced in Turkey, while the rest will be produced in Romania, an allied country. The company also showcased its armored vehicles, which can operate smoothly in ambient temperatures from -43°C to +55°C. DeltaV, founded in 2017, plays a key role in the development of domestic systems that provide autonomous access to space. One of its products showcased at the fair was an innovative system that delivers tolun ammunition to its target via rocket without the need for aircraft. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Industry and Technology, former Presidents of Defense Industries, and numerous public officials attending IDEF 2025 emphasized Turkey's success in the defense industry. Former President of Defense Industries İsmail Demir summarized the current situation by saying, "It is gratifying to see the saplings we planted bear fruit. Now, no one can stop this dynamism." IDEF 2025 once again demonstrated both Turkey's technological advancements and the trust it has earned in the global defense market.
