Police arrested all three snatchers within just 30 hours of the incident and also apprehended the receiver who purchased the stolen phone. The stolen Apple iPhone and the TVS Ntorq scooter used in the crime were recovered. With this operation, police claimed to have solved three snatching cases. The incident took place on June 25, when a woman approached PS Vikaspuri and reported that two young men and a woman riding a scooter had snatched her iPhone before speeding away towards Nala Road, Vikaspuri. A case was immediately registered, and an investigation was launched. Under the supervision of SHO Inspector Ghanshyam Kishore and the guidance of ACP Tilak Nagar Dr. Garima Tiwari, a police team led by SI Sumit, along with HC Prahlad, HC Vikram, HC Rabit, HC Rajbir, Ct. Pavan, and Ct. Parveen, began an extensive investigation. The team carefully examined CCTV footage from the crime scene and nearby routes. Investigators discovered that the suspects were using a TVS Ntorq scooter, but its registration number had been deliberately concealed with tape to avoid identification. Despite the attempt to hide their identity, the police painstakingly analyzed footage from nearly 30 CCTV cameras and successfully identified the complete registration number—DL-11PL-7916. Using technical surveillance and continuous field operations, the police tracked down and arrested the accused. They were identified as Arjun (23), a resident of Sanjay Enclave; Nakul (23), a resident of Uttam Nagar; and Kirti (20), a resident of Uttam Nagar. During the investigation, police also arrested Vikash alias Nona (21) of Uttam Nagar, who had allegedly received the stolen phone. The stolen Apple iPhone was recovered from him, while the scooter used in the crime was also seized. Police investigations revealed that the accused were not first-time offenders. Arjun has a criminal history involving 10 cases related to theft, house theft, and Arms Act offences. Nakul has been involved in five criminal cases related to theft and snatching. Kirti had previously been booked in one robbery case, while Vikash alias Nona has two previous cases related to accident and causing hurt. According to police officials, the woman's role in the gang was not merely incidental. Investigators believe she actively participated in executing the snatching operations. The presence of a woman on the scooter often helped the gang avoid immediate suspicion, allowing them to approach unsuspecting victims and flee within seconds after snatching mobile phones. Police say such tactics are increasingly being adopted by criminal gangs, prompting investigators to pay closer attention to the involvement of female offenders in street crimes. The operation also helped police solve three snatching cases registered at Vikaspuri and Uttam Nagar police stations. Officers said further investigation is underway to determine whether the gang was involved in similar offences across other parts of Delhi. Police credited the swift breakthrough to meticulous CCTV analysis, technical surveillance, and coordinated field operations, which enabled them to crack the case and recover the victim's phone within just 30 hours of the crime.
