Driving Across Wuzhi Peak 4K HDR – China's Epic Rural Mountain Road Between Jiangxi & Hunan

On this trip, we drive across Wuzhi Peak in Shangyou, Jiangxi Tracing a little-known yet striking rural mountain road along the border between Jiangxi Province and Hunan Province. Our journey begins in Jiaokeng Village, tucked away in the western valleys of Shangyou County, Ganzhou. In the early morning light, the village sits quietly among rolling hills, where farmland and homes blend into a classic southern China mountain landscape. As we move deeper into the Wuzhi Peak area, the terrain quickly becomes more dramatic and defined. A series of parallel ridgelines rise ahead, resembling an open hand—this distinctive formation is exactly how Wuzhi Peak earned its name. The mountains here are shaped by granite and metamorphic rock, creating steep slopes, sharp layers, and exposed rock faces. Under shifting light and drifting clouds, the scenery feels bold, textured, and incredibly immersive. After crossing the ridgeline, the road gradually descends westward into Hunan Province. The landscape still reflects the broader Luoxiao Mountains range, though the terrain softens slightly. Valleys open up, and small settlements begin to reappear, bringing a subtle transition from rugged isolation to lived-in mountain countryside. The journey concludes in Guidong County, under the administration of Chenzhou. Surrounded by forested hills and fresh mountain air, this quiet county provides a calm and fitting ending to a route defined by elevation, curves, and raw natural presence.
