Motocamping, Wind, and Rain | Riding to the "Other" Sturgis

While it seemed like every motorcycle rider in the country was heading to Sturgis, South Dakota, I decided to go to a different Sturgis… Sturgis, Michigan. What started as a bit of a joke turned into a really great trip. I’m still a new rider – I only learned to ride earlier this year – and this was one of my longer rides so far, about three hours each way. I loaded up the bike and headed out for a motorcycle camping trip, with thunderstorms in the forecast and a lot more wind than I expected. In this video: • Riding out to Sturgis, Michigan • Dealing with wind, traffic, and my first heavy rain on the bike • Getting set up at the campground • Waiting out more storms before heading back out • A ride to the Langley Covered Bridge, the longest remaining covered bridge in Michigan This is part 1 of the trip… and it only gets more interesting from here. 0:00 Not that Sturgis 0:25 Loaded up for camping 0:48 Let's ride! 2:59 Construction 3:30 Epic country ride 4:01 It feels like rocks! 5:25 Downtown Sturgis 06:11 At the campground 6:42 Back on the bike 8:48 Sturgis bikers 10:07 Stoned 11:10 Covered bridge
