Kleftiko 🇨🇾

This is a traditional Cypriot dish, the name indicates at its origins. Kleftiko comes from the word Kleftis, which means thief. Sheep rustlers would cook it in clay pots under ground, so that it wouldn't be detected. Today, it is cooked in. cibamon. traditional clay ovens. they use mutton, but I dont think they sell it in the UK. It is cooked slowly till the meat just melts off the bone. Some people and onions, tomatoes, and graviera cheese, but if you go to a restaurant, it is just plain meat and potatoes marinated in bay leaves and cinnamon. ...... Thank you for watching.
