But sometimes we are excessively controlling, assuming that our way of working, thinking, or organizing is unquestionably the best. We become people who constantly monitor things to ensure they happen our way, trying to maintain control. Manipulation is a strategy that controlling people use to bend another's will for their own benefit. A manipulator may begin subtly and gradually, imposing their desires and their own perception of life. If this doesn't work, they resort to belittling, guilt, fear, and shame to achieve domination.
