Happy last Sunday of the month to you 28/06/2026 Let us pray. Topic: “The Stone Was Sealed, But God Still Had the Final Word” Text: Matthew 27:62–66 “So they went and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.” — Matthew 27:66 After Jesus was crucified and buried, the chief priests and Pharisees became afraid that He would rise again as He had promised. They went to Pilate and requested that the tomb be secured. A large stone was sealed, and soldiers were placed there to guard it. Humanly speaking, every possibility of resurrection was blocked. Yet, despite the stone, the seal, and the guards, Jesus rose from the dead. This passage teaches us that no human power can stop God’s purpose. Lessons from the Passage 1. The Enemy Tries to Seal What God Wants to Raise The enemies of Jesus sealed the tomb to prevent a miracle. Likewise, the enemy may try to seal destinies, blessings, opportunities, marriages, ministries, or breakthroughs. Isaiah 14:27 “For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it?” No power can permanently stop what God has ordained. 2. Human Limitations Cannot Cancel Divine Promises Jesus had already said He would rise again. Even though circumstances appeared hopeless, God’s word still came to pass. Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie…” What God has promised concerning your life shall come to fulfillment. 3. God Specializes in Impossible Situations The stone was heavy, the tomb was sealed, and soldiers were watching, yet God intervened. Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” When men say there is no way, God makes a way. 4. Every Evil Watcher Shall Be Disgraced The guards were stationed to stop the resurrection, but they could not stop God’s power. Psalm 126:1 “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.” Every power monitoring your progress shall fail in Jesus Name.
