Tommy's Trains - Heworth Railway Station

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mam's out there ♥️ Tommy is incredibly lucky to have an army of fantastic women as his Mam and grandmothers and he loves them all so much. On Saturday, we went to Heworth Railway Station to see the LNER Azuma trains diverting down the coast line as the East Coast Mainline was closed between Newcastle and York due to engineering works. Heworth is in Gateshead and is the one stop Northern uses between Newcastle and Sunderland. There was a really late running train that was supposed to stop here today, but because it was running so late, Northern must have arranged to miss a few stops in order to make up time. The LNER trains looked so unusual at a station which is predominantly used by Northern sprinter trains and the odd freight train. Speaking of freight, we were lucky to see two Class 66 Freightliner trains heading to Doncaster.
