🎧 Berchtesgaden Impossible S2F14 – A man who has transformed cooking into an art form – and a restaurant into one of Germany's finest culinary destinations. Raised in the Black Forest, shaped by nature, craftsmanship, and a genuine love of ingredients, his journey began classically with a chef's apprenticeship. But it quickly became clear: this wasn't just someone cooking – this was passion at the highest level. After stints in Frankfurt and Hamburg, he earned his first Michelin star in the mid-1990s. Since 2005, he has shaped the culinary vision of what is now the gourmet restaurant PUR at the Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden on the Obersalzberg – then known as "Le Ciel." And what he creates there is far more than fine dining. He stands for a cuisine that is minimalist rather than overloaded. For pure flavor, the highest quality ingredients, and an incredible sense of calm on the plate. Regionality, lightness, and meticulous craftsmanship are hallmarks of every menu. In 2024, this work was awarded its second Michelin star – after an incredible 18 years of consistently excellent service. But those who know him know that behind the stars is a down-to-earth person. Someone who doesn't seek his inspiration in the limelight, but in the mountains. Hiking, climbing, or ski mountaineering provides him with the peace and clarity that also characterizes his cuisine. ...
