Pokémon Inclement Emerald Mono-Water Run (Part 6, Winona Split)
Now that we managed to defeat Norman, we’ll be beginning the sixth split of Inclement Emerald. We’re back to long and lengthy splits as we have a lot of battles to take on and a lot of encounters to find. In terms of encounters, 6 new encounters in Mantyke, Bruxish, Qwilfish, Alomomola, Rotom-Wash, and Castform. We also get access to a lot of strong TMs such as Rock Slide, Acrobatics, Thunderbolt, and critically, the HM for Surf. When it comes to the major trainers of this split, there are four trainers in Shelly, May, Spenser, and Winona. For Shelly, we have a really good lead for this battle in Empoleon. With Slush Rush and the Steel typing, Empoleon is perfect into the lead Alolan Ninetales. From there, the battle is smooth sailing. The important thing is to make sure to send in Pelipper before Shelly sends in her own Empoleon as it is much harder to deal with if hail is still up. It’s also important as Kabutops needs the speed from Swift Swim to outspeed Shelly’s Mega Beedrill. Speaking of which, Kabutops ends up being the VIP in this split of Inclement Emerald. This is especially prevalent in the battle against Pokemon such as Araquanid and Swellow. The funny thing is too, the route this battle takes place on has natural rain meaning we don’t even need to set up the weather. The main concerns of this battle were Brendan's Vikavolt and Mega Sceptile. Our solutions to these two were less than elegant but we were still able to beat him on the first try. Moving on, the battle against Spenser was quite simple. Have Cloyster sweep as much as she can after a Shell Smash and have Samurott clean up the rest after a Swords Dance. After all of that, we end up taking on Gym Leader Winona who is definitely the toughest battle up to this point. The goal turn 1 is to bait kills against Winona’s leads and swap out Lanturn for Pelipper, all the while Starmie takes out Hawlucha. Once Pelipper sets up the rain, Kabutops can deal heavy blows against Winona’s team. Once Winona’s faster Pokemon are down, we can send in Lanturn who can help Kabutops out. Once we get to Winona’s final Pokemon Mega Altaria, it is up to Cloyster and Primarina to take it down though it isn’t much of an issue for the two of them. Overall, the battle against Winona was pretty challenging but after a rocky first attempt, I was able to find a line that enabled our victory on the second attempt. Shelly 1 (0:00) (Attempts:1) Brendan 3 (4:31) (Attempts:1) Spenser (9:00) (Attempts:1) Winona (12:36) (Attempts:2) #pokemon #pokemonemerald #monotype #monowater #inclementemerald
