Pokémon Storm Silver Mono-Fire Run (Part 9, Endgame)

Now that we have all of our gym badges, it is time to take on the endgame of Storm Silver. The endgame of Storm Silver primarily consists of the Kimono Girl Gauntlet, battling Silver, and catching Lugia. In retrospect, I wish I played Sacred Gold instead in order to give Ho-oh a try just like how I used Lugia in Storm Silver Mono-Flying. Anyways, the only significant upgrade we get this split is access to the TM for Dark Pulse which is important since it means Houndoom finally gets a STAB Dark move off of its base 115 Special Attack. On to the major trainers, we start the endgame with the Kimono Girl Gauntlet. We lead with Infernape as he matches up very well into most of the Eeveelutions that make up the Gauntlet. Additional coverage moves such as Thunder Punch and Earthquake further improve Infernape’s matchups. The trickiest Pokemon to deal with are Espeon, Jolteon, and Vaporoen. Infernape can’t deal with Espeon so Houndoom acts as the perfect check to it. Jolteon is tricky due to it boosting its evasion and landing powerful Thunders. As for Vaporeon, switching into a Hydro Pump is too risky of a move to make so it is just a case of going on an all-out offense such that Rotom-Heat can come in to finish it off and win us the gauntlet. Once we make it through Victory Road, we have to face Silver for the fourth and final time this run. For his battle, Rotom-Heat does well against the Honchkrow and Feraligatr. While it was risky, Houndoom can live a Focus Blast and take out Silver’s Alakazam with a Dark Pulse. From there, we rely on the Drought Ninetales + Solar Power Charizard core to get through the rest of the battle, giving us the opportunity to take on the Elite Four and Champion. The next episode is coming out on Friday June 5th. That day, I’ll be taking on the Elite Four and Champion along with revealing the next monotype run on the channel.
