Presentation - MALOSSI 136cc Vespa ET3 Primavera Kit THE NEW LEGEND Malossi is proud to present to its public the complete rebirth of a true legend, one of the longest-running and most successful projects ever associated with our brand: the incredible new cylinder for the Vespa ET3 125. This time, entirely made of aluminum. The history of this cylinder kit begins in 1982, when, for the first time in a cast iron cylinder with this segment, an O-ring was used as a sealing gasket between the head and the cylinder, a refined solution that still represents the state of the art today. Malossi took a blank sheet of paper to rewrite its project, redesigning it from scratch from the ground up, innovating and presenting to its public a cylinder that rightfully joins the glorious family of MHR cylinder kits. Aluminum has replaced cast iron, and the reed valve housing has been completely redesigned—a true revolution that addressed the shortcomings of the original Vespa intake system dating back to 1982. It is now equipped with a crosspiece to ensure greater piston ring stability. The displacement increases to 130 cubic centimeters, while the six transfer ports are the result of know-how and technology acquired over decades of scooter racing and applied for the first time in history to a Vespa cylinder capable of achieving extremely high power and revs of up to 11,000 rpm. The exhaust has also been completely redesigned and now features a booster system, a racing solution that guarantees a large exhaust gas expulsion surface, reducing piston ring fatigue. Malossi's philosophy has always been to provide a complete and powerful plug-and-play kit. Therefore, the reed valve manifold assembly for this cylinder (code = 2016319 - only for the VESPA ET3 PRIMAVERA) was completely redesigned. Extensive fluid dynamics studies and simulations conducted with cutting-edge software have allowed the manifolds to be perfectly connected, resulting in a virtually completely straight assembly, ensuring the best possible transition from the carburetor to the intake manifold, all while remaining perfectly within the Vespa's body. The piston, specifically designed for this cylinder, is also new, now superlight, single-ring, and extremely high-performance. TECHNICAL FEATURES ALUMINUM CYLINDER Cylinders obtained by gravity casting in specific steel moulds. Material: primary aluminum alloy with a high silicon content, hardened and stabilized. Processing: on high-precision numerically controlled machine tools. Cylinder liner with silicon carbide coating in a galvanic nickel matrix and cross-polished with diamonds to extremely tight tolerances. Heat exchange surfaces recalculated and enlarged. Exhaust and transfer ports designed and tested for maximum thermodynamic efficiency. Dimensional checks of shape and roughness according to Malossi standards.
