The game was played Saturday at Camp Jordan Baseball Field in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a large regional event. The 16U Triad Division alone has 20 pools of six teams each, 120 teams total, drawing top travel softball competition from across the country. Valor opened the scoring in the second on a Laney Johnson double. Then the Lady Dukes took over. The top of the third was the big blow. The Lady Dukes plated five runs on six hits, capped by Ava Richardson's grand slam to center field. They added five more in the fourth on RBI singles from Natalie McKain and Leah Fair around a bases-loaded walk drawn by Richardson. She finished with five RBI on two hits. Tessa Hammons earned the win in the circle, allowing one run over four innings with four strikeouts. The Lady Dukes racked up 11 hits, with McKain, Fair, and Richardson each collecting two, and played another error-free game while turning a double play.
