The second day of our adventure in Catania starts rather badly – ​​the coffee machine breaks down this morning, so we start the day without our favorite caffeine fix 😅 Despite this, we quickly get ready and head for the beach to see what life in Sicily is like in the morning. On the way, we notice that the rules are a bit different here – cars are parked literally everywhere, sidewalks are often impassable, and crossing the street feels like a real game of roulette 🎲 To our surprise, we somehow manage to make it and continue on, discovering more interesting things, like a bike path with… trees growing every now and then 🤯 Along the way, we pop into a local shop selling regional products – it's full of fresh fruit and a unique atmosphere. As we continue, we cross streets again and are increasingly surprised by the utter chaos – the lights seem to be merely a suggestion, people cross red lights, and traffic has its own rules. We finally reach the beach, which unfortunately surprises us – and not in a good way, as it turns out to be quite dirty. Nevertheless, we spend a while there, collecting shells, and simply relaxing to the sounds of the sea 🐚 After sunbathing, it's time for something Italians do best – food! We stumble upon some fantastic spaghetti, served in really generous portions 🍝 Delicious, fresh, and definitely worth recommending. Later, we return to the same local shop to stock up on fruit and drinks, and a moment later, we stumble upon a local vendor squeezing fresh juices – something we couldn't pass up 🍊 Walking further around the city, we also check the prices of flights and attractions – and here's another surprise, as they can be really expensive, although we manage to find cheaper options too. We also explore the city and stumble upon the Teatro Romano, which is truly impressive and showcases the historical side of Catania 🏛️ At the end of the day, we discover something truly atmospheric – a small garden in front of a shop, where you can sit and quietly enjoy the produce you've bought.
