Some Spanish media outlets have recently claimed that the Cross of Burgundy is a right-wing symbol, a flag worthy of radicals. In this video, we debunk these falsehoods and explain the origin and meaning of the Cross of Burgundy. The origin of the Cross of Burgundy is not found on the right, but in the Cross of Saint Andrew, adopted as an emblem by the Dukes of Burgundy. When Philip the Fair married Joanna of Castile and became King Consort, the Cross of Burgundy was introduced to Spain. It was precisely under Charles, his son, that it became a widespread emblem. The Cross of Burgundy was first flown at the Battle of Pavia, a battle you can watch here:    • Batalla de Pavía (1525) ⚔️ Batallas de los...   In fact, to this day we can still find the Cross of Burgundy on the flags of Florida and Alabama. It also appears on the flag of the Bolivian department of Chuquisaca and the Chilean city of Valdivia. This is a flag used in various contexts and has represented Spain for centuries, an emblem whose legacy is still appreciated in Latin America and the United States. Therefore, censoring this flag is an attack on one of Spain's most important symbols.
