¿Existió de verdad la Reconquista? ⚔️ Desmontando bulos de la Historia de España

The Reconquista has traditionally been considered one of the key events in Spanish history. However, various historians argue that the Reconquista never actually happened, and that it is a myth. In this video, we analyze the main arguments on this matter and answer a key question for Spanish history: Did the Reconquista really happen? According to the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), the Reconquista was the process of recovering the Hispanic territory invaded by the Muslims in 711, a process that ended with the capture of Granada in 1492. It was therefore a gradual process of territorial recovery that went from the Battle of Covadonga to the capture of Granada, including the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in 1212. Following this process, an ideology based on the recovery of what had been lost legitimized the Christian territorial expansion southward. However, various authors have pointed out in recent decades that it is incorrect to speak of a Reconquista. This video analyzes the main arguments and concludes that it is perfectly correct to use the term Reconquista. And you, do you believe the Reconquista happened? Leave your opinion in the comments.
