Jogger von PKW erfasst - Lebensgefährlich verletzt in Kleve

POL-KLE: Kleve - 27-Year-Old Man from Kleve Seriously Injured in Traffic Accident / Hit by Car While Crossing the Road Kleve (ots) - On Tuesday (October 14, 2025), at approximately 2:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man from Kleve was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Grunewaldstraße near the village of Reichswalde. He was attempting to cross Grunewaldstraße from Engelsstraße toward Reichswalde as a jogger. After letting several vehicles pass in the direction of Kleve, and thus from his left, he suddenly ran into the roadway, presumably not paying attention to traffic approaching from the right. A 26-year-old man from Goch was driving his VW T-Cross toward Grunewald. He was unable to avoid a collision with the jogger. The man from Kleve suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in the Netherlands. The requested rescue helicopter was not deployed. The driver and a female companion in the vehicle, as well as a witness to the accident, were cared for by the emergency services. The police victim protection team took over the notification and care of the family of the seriously injured person. The Kleve District Police Traffic Accident Investigation Team was deployed to record the accident. The VW was impounded. Grunewaldstraße, which is located outside of a built-up area, was completely closed between Dorfanger/Wolfsgraben and An der Hand streets for several hours. (sp)
