Horrific accident on the A2: Truck driver fails to see the end of a traffic jam, crashes into another truck, and pushes it into a third truck – passenger killed, driver suffers serious injuries | Firefighters and rescue workers on major operation A fatal accident occurred on the A2 near Ziesar on Monday morning: The driver of a truck failed to see the end of a traffic jam that had formed due to a previous accident and crashed into a stationary truck at high speed. The force of the impact pushed this truck into a third truck. Numerous emergency services responded, and a rescue helicopter landed on the highway. For the passenger of the truck that caused the collision, all help came too late; he died at the scene of the accident. The driver suffered serious injuries. He had to be rescued from the detached cab using crash rescue techniques and was airlifted to a hospital. The A2 had to be completely closed in both directions. Significant traffic disruptions ensued.
