Changed plans lead to this beautiful Nab Scar and Ambleside route

This walk was originally going to be up to Nab Scar and then over to Heron Pike before descending into Grasmere. However, here is the walk we actually did. Starting off in Pelter Bridge car park we head over Pelter Bridge, past Rydal Hall and Rydal Mount do ascend Nab Scar. This consistent ascent soon offers stunning views over the surrounding fells and waters. Once we reached the summit, we turned back and descend on the conservation path. As plans have changed we explore the grounds of Rydal Hall, before continuing along a section of the old coffin route towards Ambleside. I’ll show you the section avoiding the usual road walk which is being developed at the moment. Then we are in Ambleside for some refreshments. For those wanting a low level walk back to Pelter Bridge car park I’ve included this in the downloadable map in the description to this video. This route will take us past the stepping stones which cross the river and is a fun activity to do, before taking up back to the start point. Route: https://explore.osmaps.com/route/3082...
