RICHARD WURMBRAND: Encarcelado y torturado por la causa del evangelio | BITE

Richard Wurmbrand was the youngest of four children in a Romanian Jewish family. From a young age, he was a dedicated intellectual. In 1936, he and his wife Sabina met a carpenter who gave him a Bible. This faithful carpenter encouraged them to take the time to read the Gospels. Soon, Sabina and Richard were baptized. When World War II arrived, many ministers had to leave Romania. Richard and Sabina fearlessly continued their Christian missionary work. They rescued numerous Jews from the ghettos. They preached daily in bomb shelters and were arrested several times for their activities. At the end of the war, he printed and organized the distribution of one million Gospels in Russian for the Soviet troops occupying Romania while pastoring a church, mostly made up of converted Jews. In 1948, Richard was detained by the communist government for almost three years in solitary confinement and subjected to torture. He spent 14 years in communist prisons over two periods. He finally emigrated to the United States in 1966. Once there, he started the ministry "Christian Missions to the Communist World," now known as "The Voice of the Martyrs." This mission's main goal is to preach the gospel and help Christians persecuted by communist and Islamic regimes.
