Takanashi Farm, Raising Kazusa Wagyu Beef in Chiba Takanashi Farm, located in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture, raises 300 head of Kazusa Wagyu beef. Originally raising Holstein beef cattle, the third-generation owner, Yuichi Takanashi, switched to Wagyu beef. Takanashi says that raising Holstein and Wagyu beef is "completely different," but he started fattening Wagyu beef on his own. He faced many challenges at the beginning, but continued to ask many people for advice over the past 15 years. Despite its short history as a Wagyu beef farm, the farm boasts numerous awards, including the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award and the Wagyu Beef Olympics. Takanashi Farm's latest venture is producing heifer cattle that are even more delicious. We asked him why he decided to take on this new challenge and learned about the special feed he uses.
