[Masaki Ishii Farm, Raising Shodoshima Olive-Fed Beef in Kagawa] The birth of Kagawa Prefecture's signature brand of beef, "Olive Beef," was shaped by the life of Masaki Ishii, a Shodoshima resident. Driven by his desire to practice sustainable agriculture, Ishii aspired to become a cattle farmer. His career as a cattle farmer began when he received two cows in lieu of his high school diploma. Ishii had a strong desire to "produce beef with added value in Kagawa Prefecture," and he risked his life to create a new brand of beef! He set his sights on olives, a specialty of Shodoshima. Despite the challenges, Ishii persevered. He shares the story behind the creation of Shodoshima Olive-Fed Beef and his current aspirations.
