We Had to Re-seal This Boat Window Twice - Rigging Check by Drone

This week on Sailing Speireag, what should have been a straightforward job turned into doing the whole thing twice. We removed one of the windows from our 1968 Iroquois Mk2 catamaran to re-seal it properly, planning to reuse the original stainless steel nuts and bolts. But once we got into the job, we discovered just how badly corrosion had affected the old fasteners and the window frame around the screw holes. That meant taking it all apart again, replacing the hardware and re-sealing the window for a second time. While we were working on the boat, we also sent the drone up to inspect the rigging at the top of the mast and get a closer look at areas that are difficult to check from deck level. And after all that work, we decided it was time to stop for a while, enjoy where we live and go play in the water. We’re Mark and Sally, slowly rebuilding and improving our vintage catamaran while learning the skills we’ll need for our eventual move to a much bigger Wharram Catamaran and full-time sailing.
