Willkommen Kaokoland! | Pt. 3 | Namibia 2022: Das erste Mal Dachzelt

I leave the beautiful Purros Canyon Campsite, where it was my first time roof tent! I'm now pushing further into Nambia's northwest, and what a breathtaking, unique landscape this is. Kaokoland welcomes me and I enjoy it with all my senses. On my journey I meet my first "lone stone man", these stone figures known to Namibia lovers which were created in solitude up here. Probably no one knows exactly how many there are in total and when they were created and by whom. But it's so great - I previously saw them in some YouTube videos from other travelers, and now I'm discovering my first ones myself. I sleep in the Etaambura Lodge, a self-catering accommodation located high on a hill with a fabulous view. I drive the Rooidrom Pass, pass the Rooidrom, the Red drum, a waypoint that can be found in all maps of this region of Namibia and from where I reach the Marienfluss valley. What a landscape, what colors, what simple, contented and friendly people, almost all of them from the Himba tribe. It almost blows me away a few times here, different emotions overcome me, I feel a deep feeling of happiness here and I am infinitely grateful that I can experience it. It's my pleasure to take you with me. Have fun and: Welcome Kaokoland!
