Otjihaa - mein krassester Pass | Pt. 4 | Namibia 2022: Das erste Mal Dachzelt

Maybe you came here with me from part 3 of my video series? Then you know that I am driving through the magnificent Kaokoland for the first time, an area of indescribably beautiful landscape in the very northwest of the Kunene region. Because I'm slowly running out of diesel, I drive from the Marienfluss valley via the Marble Community Campsite towards Opuwo, where I can fill up, withdraw money and shop. Because the route cannot be found on Google maps, I follow my map. Once again I enjoy the landscape, colors and vastness of the Kaokoland and finally reach a small settlement. Shortly after this settlement begins the hardest pass I have ridden to date: the Otjihaa Pass. It is longer, steeper and more remote than the Rooidrom Pass, which I mastered twice the day before. I film a section of the steepest passage and am delighted when I reach the top. Afterwards I can fully enjoy my journey and slowly I come back down - the Otjihaa Pass is actually for off-road enthusiasts only, and I can't really count myself among them! I enjoy lots of different birds, huge baobab trees and the fact that I don't have to go down another pass, but rather lose altitude at a steady and moderate rate the rest of the way. Accordingly, I arrive relaxed in Opuwo. My stop for the next overnight stay is the Kaoko Mopane Lodge & Campsite, where the campsites are close together and well attended. Each site provides electricity, a shower and a toilet and small mopane trees.
