Weekly BobBlast Issue 445 Practicing with my Daily Warm-Ups Welcome Back to Another BobBlast! This issue of the Weekly BobBlast is about PRACTICING. Practice more daily! If you practice daily, the results will pleasantly surprise you! You will notice how effortless your next painting will be. You (and your brush) will be in familiar territory because of all that repetitive practice of the same subject. That's why I paint looser… when I know I'll be painting the same subject over and over, I become more confident, familiar and eager to paint even looser. The more I paint in a series, the looser I become. I call this PRACTICE my Daily Warm-Ups. Athletes, dancers and musicians all warm up before doing great things. I believe artists should warm-up as well! I hear from many of you about wanting to paint looser. My Daily Warm-Ups help me stay loose. I line up at least six 6x9 inch sheets of watercolor, decide on the subject for the day, and paint. During that time, I try new options within the same concept - like different color combinations, different focal point, different composition. This is not a job - you're a mad scientist with paint.
