BobBlast #588 Collage and Glues, Part Two   Welcome Back to Another BobBlast! As promised—Part Two! In Part One, we discussed the glue that I use in my collage paintings. This BobBlast is about starting and completing an abstract collage painting.   Watch the step-by-step Demo, as I layer paint and collage paper with acrylic gel medium as the adhesive.   My Materials: •300 lb watercolor paper •Acrylic Gel Medium •Wide brushes to spread the glue around •Hand-painted tissue paper •Transparent paints •Silicon wedge   I work on two collage paintings in this BobBlast. The first demo focuses on identifying where I want to place the collage. Then I add transparent paint and more collage, building up patterned collage layers. I complete the collage painting by scraping and scratching into the surface to show the deeper layers of colors.   The second demo is a great technique that will help pull any painting together! I started with a collage painting, then rubbed the Holbein transparent acrylic Marigold on the surface… leaving the face and torso as the lightest part, which is the focal point. The final step is wiping clean any paint residue around the focal point with a paper towel.   Keep your fingers sticky!
