Liam's Tiny Guitar pt 7 | RATTLECAN GUITAR RESTORATIONS by James O’Rear

SERMON NOTES: Liam's Tiny Guitar pt 7 | RATTLECAN GUITAR RESTORATIONS by James O’Rear In this episode of liam's Tiny Guitar pt7 we cut out the headstock shape on a bandsaw, then clean it up on an oscillating spindle sander and finally with hand sanding to 220 grit. Once the proper surface finish is attained we will use a moist towel to raise the grain and do the final light sanding with a 220 grit pad. Then we will begin the process of finishing the mahogany neck with Birchwood-Casey TruOil, a polymerized linseed oil that dries hard (unlike traditional boiled linseed oil finishes) and protect the neck. I put the first coat on until the wood stops absorbing it; subsequent finishes will be very light and slowly build the thickness up. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- copyright © 2023 James O'Rear all rights reserved Subscribe to Rattlecan Guitar Restorations on YouTube by clicking: http://tinyurl.com/RattlecanGuitarRes...
