Liam's Tiny Guitar pt 2 | RATTLECAN GUITAR RESTORATIONS by James O’Rear In the second part of Liam's Tiny Guitar video mini-series we unbox the mini T-style guitar from Stewart MacDonald a.k.a. StewMac. The StewMac mini-T is a shunken version of the Fender Telecaster guitar; the body and neck scale are smaller but the hardware and neck width at the nut are the same. The neck and body are mahogany, the fretboard is Indian laurelwood. It comes with two single coil pickups, volume and tone knobs, a 3-way switch and a single-ply pickguard. Six inline tuners, string trees, and strap buttons are also included. The neck comes finished: fret markers installed, frets installed and (mostly) finished, and a plastic nut installed. The truss rod is installed and the frets measures flat. The electronics are nearly complete, the only soldering is 6 wires ( 2 each for the pickups and 2 for the jack. The time to be spent is in the finishing. Proper prep for finishing involves sanding and cleaning, as well as filling the grain with pore filler. Currently the finish has been deemed to be...blue.
